RIYADH — The Arab Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen said on Tuesday that a ballistic missile fired from Yemen by the Iran-backed Houthi militia fell in the middle of civilians and civilian objects in the Yemeni city of Ma’rib.

In a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency late Tuesday, the spokesman of the Arab Coalition, Col. Turki Al-Maliki, said: “The Iran-backed Houthi militia launched this evening a ballistic missile from Yemen, the missile fell in the middle of civilians and civilian objects in Ma’rib city.

“The Houthi militia continues to violate the international humanitarian law by indiscriminately launching ballistic missiles that fall on civilians and residential areas, threatening the lives of hundreds of civilians in the process,” Col. Al-Maliki said.

“This launch is a deliberate escalation by the Houthi militia, targeting civilians and civilian objects in Yemen and neighboring countries,” Col. Al-Maliki added.

The spokesman stressed that the Coalition forces will continue to undertake all decisive, deterrent measures to neutralize and destroy these ballistic capabilities to protect civilians in Yemen, and safeguard regional and international security.”
