MGD opens 2 new showrooms as part of its global expansion plan

Malabar Gold & Diamonds, one of the largest global jewelry retailer, has opened two new showrooms in India as part of its global expansion plans. The new showrooms were opened at Kumbakonam in Tami Nadu and Chandigarh in Punjab. Malabar Group Chairman M. P. Ahammed inaugurated the showrooms through an online event. Senior directors, management team members, investors, and customers of Malabar Gold & Diamonds from over 10 countries attended the event via Zoom cloud video call.

Against the backdrop of COVID-19 pandemic, the group has decided to open the fully equipped showrooms exercising utmost caution to give a further push to its strategy of creatively positioning the brand in the market and continue its expansion plans with abundant caution and safety measures. This decision to open the new showrooms has gone down well with the customers as is evident from the initial footfall and customer response, top management of the company said.

Malabar Gold & Diamonds, which completed 27 successful years in business has over 260 showrooms across the globe in addition to 14 wholesale units, offices, design centers and factories spread across India, Middle East, Far East & USA. In India, the company has jewelry making units in Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Coimbatore. The company also has manufacturing units in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman. Malabar Gold & Diamonds continues with its global expansion plan and is scheduled to open new showrooms in Patna in Bihar, Kammam in Telangana, Lucknow and Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, Thane and Vashi in Maharashtra, Dwaraka in New Delhi, Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Malleswaram and Kammanahalli in Karnataka, Bhubaneswar in Orissa, and Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh this year. Outside of India, the company is scheduled to open showrooms in Malaysia, Bangladesh, Singapore, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
