RIYADH — The Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP) launched on Thursday the Tuwaiq Cybersecurity Bootcamp to qualify and empower Saudi capabilities in Cybersecurity.

This bootcamp will be virtual and held for the next 3 months online, in order to continue applying the precautionary measures for safety in the Kingdom.

Muteb Alqany, CEO of SAFCSP, noted that Saudi Arabia has been ranked No. 1 in Arab world and 13th in the world for its commitment to cybersecurity. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia has been ranked 16th globally based on the number of cyberattacks directed against it.

“There’s a need to train national talents and enhance their capabilities based on the best international practices,” Alqany said.

Eng. Mohammed Alshamrani, general supervisor of cybersecurity in SAFCSP, assured that all preparation has been made to get the best outcomes from all participants in the Tuwaiq bootcamp, and to provide high-level training sessions with theory taught virtually.

Tuwaiq Cybersecurity Bootcamp is aiming to provide all participants with knowledge, foundation of cybersecurity and experiential learning through on-hand training.

The bootcamp will be delivered by Offensive Security, an American international company, in collaboration with @Hack and funded by Saudi Human Resources Development Fund (HADAF). This bootcamp is sponsored by STC as a partner and digital enabler and Haboob company.

All Saudi graduates from Tuwaiq Cybersecurity Bootcamp will have the opportunity to find a job with SAFCSP partners after graduation. The grads will be ready to start their career path in cybersecurity in both government and private sectors. — SPA
