468 COVID-19 cases, 596 recoveries, 24 deaths reported in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s on Wednesday recorded 468 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 337,711, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

Twenty-four more died over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19, taking the total number of virus-related fatalities to 4,947.

The ministry also reported 596 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 323,208 with the recovery rate rising to nearly 96 percent.

Of the new cases, Madinah recorded the highest number of cases with 71 infections followed by Makkah with 53, Yanbu with 31, Hafouf with 29, and Riyadh with 25.

The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom.

Active cases continued to drop with 9,556 reported on Wednesday, out of which 913 are critical.
