Coronavirus cases continue to drop in Saudi Arabia

405 new infections, and 24 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours

RIYADH — Daily coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia continued to drop, with 405 new infections reported on Saturday, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The ministry also announced 22 more deaths from complications caused by COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections and the virus-related death toll in the Kingdom to 338,944 and 5,018 respectively.

Of the news cases, Madinah recorded 40, Makkah 36, Yanbu 24, Hafouf 23, Riyadh 32, and Damman 10. The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom.

Active cases have also dropped sharply in the Kingdom with 9,189 reported on Saturday out of which 842 are critical.

The ministry also announced that 455 more patients have fully recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 324,737.
