Number of Saudi COVID-19 cases stays below 200

RIYADH —
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health recorded on Sunday 187 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, marking a steady drop in single-day infections in the Kingdom.

The ministry also reported 11 more deaths in the past 24 hours, marking another low single-day virus-related fatalities in many months since the outbreak of the coronavirus in the Kingdom.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 358,713 and the deaths to 5,965.

The ministry also reported 317 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 348,879 with the recovery rate staying steady.

Of the new cases, the Riyadh region recorded the highest number of cases with 52 followed by the Makkah region with 38, Madinah with 33 and Eastern region with 25 cases.

The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.

With the steady drop in the number of daily cases and the spike in recoveries, the active cases in the Kingdom also came down significantly with 3,869 reported on Sunday, and out of the total, 600 were critical cases.
