New COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia dip as recoveries soar

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health recorded on Sunday 162 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 361,010.

According to the Ministry of Health, 10 more patients died due to complications caused by the virus over the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 6,122.

The ministry also reported 156 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 351,878, with the recovery rate rising to 97.5 percent.

All the regions of the Kingdom recorded less than 50 cases once again with the Riyadh region reporting 40, followed by the Makkah region with 39, Madinah region with 30, and Eastern region with 25 cases.

The Jazan region, Hail and the Northern Borders regions registered 1 case each.

The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.

With the steady fall in new infections, the active cases in the Kingdom also dropped to 3,010 out of which 416 were critical cases.
