RIYADH — Minister of Culture Prince Badr Bin Abdullah Bin Farhan announced the issuance of the first two licenses for music institutes in the Kingdom. The International Music Training Center and the Music House Institute for Training have been granted licenses to practice the activity of music training. They are two specialized institutes that provide training and mentor talents in the field of music.
Making the announcement on his official Twitter account, Prince Badr called on other institutes to apply for licenses.
“I invite all those interested in the private and non-profit sectors to submit applications for licenses for institutes in various cultural fields on a specialized platform that will start its work after 90 days,” the culture minister said.
The issuance of the licenses comes as part of the project to establish specialized training institutes in the fields of culture and arts by the Ministry of Culture. The ministry is working, in cooperation with Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) and the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, to empower and support Saudi talents and develop cultural and artistic capabilities, in addition to developing the artistic industry by creating educational and training opportunities in various creative disciplines.
It has been decided by the ministry to announce the procedures to submit applications to obtain a license for cultural and art institute. Institutes and training centers wishing to offer training programs in the fields of culture and art as well as individuals looking to obtain licenses to practice cultural and artistic activities can apply for it through an electronic platform that the ministry is currently developing and that is meant exclusively for the issuance of licenses. The platform will be ready to receive these requests after three months.
The online platform provides individuals with various licenses that cover different artistic and cultural fields, including theater, music, literature, publishing and translation, and museums. The platform enables those interested in the theater field to obtain licenses for performing their work. As for the musical side, there will be three licenses: for playing music, musical acoustics, and music production. There will be two licenses for activities of Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, namely the literary agency activity license, and the literary agent license, while a license was allocated in the field of museums for an expert to take care of museum collections.
The list of licenses available for training centers and institutes includes licenses to establish institutes or training centers in the sectors of music, visual arts, theater, performing arts, fashion, culinary arts, museums, heritage, film, design, architecture, literature, translation, archeology, and handicrafts, the ministry sources said.
