500 artifacts from Prophet’s time showcased in Madinah exhibition

MADINAH — Prince Faisal Bin Salman, emir of Madinah region and chairman of the Madinah Region Development Authority, opened the International Exhibition and Museum on the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization here on Wednesday. The event is being held under the supervision of the Muslim World League (MWL) with the support of the Madinah Region Development Authority.

Speaking on the occasion, Prince Faisal praised the standard of modern technologies used in arranging museum halls in the exhibition, which constitutes the first nucleus for the launch of a series of Islamic museums, under the umbrella of MWL, in a number of world capitals.

The emir said that the contents and collections of the exhibition and museum represent a historical legacy from which to spread the correct Prophetic approach and the Prophet’s fragrant biography to all parts of the world so as to demonstrate the tolerance and moderation of the true religion. The event aims at achieving one of the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision in enriching the experience of visitors and residents through exposing rich cultural and heritage sites in front of them.

Those who attended the opening ceremony included General Secretary of the Muslim World League Sheikh Muhammad Al-Issa, and Imam and Preacher of the Grand Mosque Sheikh Saleh Bin Humeid.

After the inauguration ceremony, Prince Faisal toured the main pavilions of the exhibition and the new museum located next to the Prophet’s Mosque, and listened to a detailed explanation of all the services provided to the people and visitors of the region through the scientific and technical integrated exhibition platform that provides the most comprehensive and accurate modern means of displaying the message of Islam and its tolerant laws, as well as the aesthetics of the religion as a civilized humanitarian message of faith.

The emir was also briefed on the exhibition that includes a number of pavilions showcasing the landmarks from the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in Makkah and Madinah; the use of innovative technologies in introducing all the prophets to the visitors, and innovative methods in the way of presenting the Madinah Charter and the Makkah Document, apart from the efforts the Kingdom is exerting in the service of the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s Sunnah.

During the tour, Prince Faisal inaugurated the main screen of the exhibition, which is located in front of the southern courtyard of the Prophet’s Mosque. The exhibition, which includes 25 main pavilions, is concerned with presenting the message of Islam represented in justice, peace, mercy, tolerance and moderation, based on the Holy Qur’an, the biography of the Prophet (PBUH), and the luminous Islamic history. It relies on 350 educational and teaching methods; 150 evidence highlighting the greatness of Islam and preserving rights of non-Muslims, in addition to displaying more than 500 artifacts and heritage pieces from the Prophet’s period.

The exhibition also includes a cinema theater, which is the first of its kind, to present the Prophet’s biography through a series of films documented in a specialized way, and through documented scientific content to enable the visitors to simulate the reality of the biography in all its details and interact with it and help form a human shift from the modern era to the Prophet’s era using the latest optical display technology.
