COVID-19 cases remain below 1,000 as recoveries outpace new infections

RIYADH — Single-day coronavirus cases remained below the 1,000-mark for the second consecutive day on Monday with 958 new infections recorded over the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

The ministry announced 13 more deaths over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by the deadly virus.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 413,174 and the virus-related fatalities to 6,913.

The ministry also reported 1,047 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 396,604.

The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of new cases with 364 followed by the Makkah region with 234 and the Eastern region with 145 infections. The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom.

According to the ministry, there were 9,657 active cases and 1,290 of them were in critical condition.
