Recoveries outnumber new COVID-19 cases in KSA as single-day infections rise to 1,245

JEDDAH — New COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia rose above 1,200 once again on Monday after dropping to 907 a day before, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The ministry announced 1,245 new infections and 15 more deaths over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by the virus.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 450,436 and the virus-related fatalities to 7,362.

The ministry also reported 1,275 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 433,413.

The Makkah region reported the highest number of new cases with 428, followed by the Riyadh region with 313, the Eastern region with 155, and the Madinah region with 99 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just two of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 9,661 active cases and 1,438 of them were in critical condition.
