RIYADH — Yemen’s President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi met here on Monday with Sweden’s Foreign Minister Ann Linde, Yemen's Saba News Agency reported.
During the meeting, the Yemeni president lauded Sweden's active role in the framework of the European Union and support to Yemen and its constitutional legitimacy and for sponsoring peace talks in Stockholm, as well as appointing a special envoy to Yemen.
President Hadi briefed the Swedish minister about the latest developments in Yemen and the suffering of the Yemeni people due to the protracted war waged by the Houthi militia, pointing out that the militia has besieged cities and is targeting displaced people camps in Marib.
He also pointed out to Iranian negative role in supporting the Houthi militia and encouraging it to prolong the war.
Earlier in the day, the Swedish foreign minister met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
During the meeting, they reviewed the relations between the two countries and the most prominent regional and international developments of common interest.
