JEDDAH — Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah said that the administration of the second dose of COVID-19 vaccines would start when stock is available in large quantities.

Saudi Arabia is keen on the availability of highly effective vaccines, the minister told Al-Arabiya TV on Wednesday, adding that 14 million persons have received the first dose of the vaccine.

The ministry announced on April 10 the delaying the second dose appointments and rescheduling them as the Kingdom aims to provide the first dose of the vaccine to a larger number of people, especially high-risk groups.

The ministry recently said that the second dose of the vaccine would be available for people older than 60 years old.
