JEDDAH — The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah launched an integrated awareness campaign to raise awareness and educate the pilgrim about the precautions and instructions before entering Makkah to create a healthy environment for performing the ritual of Hajj for this exceptional season.

Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Abdelfattah Bin Suleiman Mashat said that the Hajj environment this year would be different from the regular annual pilgrimage. It is a healthy environment in which the distance between the pilgrim and the other is taken into account during Hajj. He noted that the final plan will be drawn up for the transportation through the competent security authorities.

He indicated that the camp's infrastructure will be completed by the end of the current month of Dhu Al-Qi'dah, pointing out that the period for receiving requests for Hajj was limited to ten days since the opening of the electronic portal, through which more than 500,000 requests were entered, with a target of 60,000 requests.

Therefore, the sorting mechanism will be applied to reach the number scheduled to perform the rituals, taking into account the preventive precautions against coronavirus. — SPA
