RIYADH —
The Arab Coalition forces led by Saudi Arabia have intercepted and destroyed two explosive-laden drones launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia, targeting the Kingdom’s southern region.

In a statement early Monday, the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen said that the Iranian-backed militia is deliberately targeting civilians in the Kingdom.

“The Houthi militia deliberately targeted civilians and civilian infrastructure. We are dealing with the threats firmly to protect civilians from hostile attacks,” the Arab Coalition said in a statement.

The latest attack on the southern city of Khamis Mushait comes more than a week after a hostile attempt by the Iran-backed Houthis to attack a Saudi commercial vessel with a drone was thwarted.

Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen has strongly condemned and denounced the terrorist Houthi militia's continued launching of bomb-laden UAVs to target civilians and civilian objects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in a systematic and deliberate way.

In a statement, the secretary general commended the vigilance of the Coaliiton forces that managed to intercept and destroy two bomb-laden UAVs launched this morning by the terrorist Houthi militia towards Khamis Mushait City.

Dr. Al-Othaimeen reiterated OIC’s support for all measures being taken by the Coalition forces to protect civilians and civilian objects and combat the terrorist Houthi militia’s acts.

He stressed the organization’s stand and solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in addressing the terrorist crimes committed by the terrorist Houthi militia, supporting all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to preserve its security, stability and the safety of its citizens and residents.

In Manama, Bahrain strongly condemned the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militia’s launching of two bomb-laden UAVs towards Khamis Mushait City, Saudi Arabia.

Bahrain commended the vigilance of the forces of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen that intercepted and destroyed the UAVs.
