JEDDAH — Fully vaccinated children between the age of 12 to 18 can apply for Umrah permits, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said on Monday, the first day of the new Umrah season.
The ministry added that it has issued more than 13,000 permits for children in the 12-18 age group, enabling them to perform Umrah and visit the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Abdul-Fattah Bin Suleiman Mashat said that Umrah permits are issued through two applications — Eatmarna and Tawwaklna — amid an integrated system of services and preventive measures to ensure the safety and health of pilgrims.
He pointed out that that the ministry worked in coordination with other concerned authorities, before the start of the Umrah season, to put in place executive mechanisms and create a safe and easy environment for pilgrims, enabling them to complete their journey amid security, safety and good health.
The minister underlined the need to adhere to organizational plans and health procedures established by the ministry in cooperation with the competent authorities for the safety of the pilgrims and those who are serving them and to prevent the spread of coronavirus and its variants.
He also called for accessing Eatmarna and Tawwaklna applications to get Umrah and visit permits.
