Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — Assistant Deputy Minister of Health for Preventive Health Dr. Abdullah Asiri emphasized that the goal of vaccination as well as precautionary measures and preventive protocols is to get out of the coronavirus pandemic and not to get rid of it.

The COVID-19 will become like the rest of the coronaviruses, adapting and remaining to be a cause for annual colds, he pointed out.

In comments on his official Twitter account, Dr. Asiri said that these vaccines play their role with distinction in containing the virus.

Regarding reports about the return of coronavirus infections in highly immunized countries, he said that these reports are about statistics of laboratory tests and not pathological infections.
