RIYADH - King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “MAWHIBA”, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Huawei Tech Investment Saudi Arabia. The MoU aims to cooperate in developing digital talents and building the capacities of “MAWHIBA” trainers, provide them with the necessary technology to bridge the gap in the ICT field. The MoU signing with the presence of the Dr. Saud bin Saeed Bin Abdulaziz Almthami, the Secretary General at King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, and Hou Tao, Vice President, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Steven Liu Deputy CEO of Saudi Huawei,Dr. Nazeeh Al-Othmany The Vice- Secretary General at the Foundation’s premises and in the presence of senior executives from both parties. The MoU stipulates that both parties cooperate within Huawei’s ICT Academy which aims to bridge the gap in finding talents in the technology field. This can be achieved through training students nominated by “MAWHIBA” on advanced and emerging technologies, as well as nurturing talents in the technical field, and provide the Foundation with access to Huawei’s virtual platform for talents and its educational resources. The cooperation also includes “MAWHIBA” selecting two training sessions from Huawei’s Certified ICT Associate (HCIA) program. Huawei will also provide training to “MAWHIBA” and universities’ faculty to obtain HCIA, as well as access to use Huawei’s available online learning tools. “MAWHIBA” will also be nominating students from the Foundation for Huawei’s Future Leaders program to provide opportunities for those who pass the exams to obtain a 3-months extensive theoretical and practical training before hiring them at Huawei. Both parties will also launch campaigns to increase the level of awareness of the ICT field and encourage students to register in Huawei’s ICT Competition.
