JEDDAH — The levels of suspense and excitement are increasing as the first edition of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is approaching, where the world attention on Dec. 3 is focused on the Jeddah Corniche Circuit to see the challenge of the world best Formula 1 racers between Dec. 3 and 5, 2021.

Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is listed on the calendar of the events and seasons that was launched by the “Visit Saudi” in last September to review all events and seasons that Saudi Arabia is witnessing between October 2021 and March 2022.

Jeddah Corniche Circuit, designed by Herman Tilke, is full of characteristics that appear in Formula 1 races for the first time, which guarantees the highest levels of stimulation for drivers to start with the highest speeds possible and increase the levels of excitements during the race.

Jeddah, within the rules of races across the world, is set to be competitive thanks to the circuit which has a record number of curves, with 27, and three Drag Reduction System zones.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF), on the sidelines of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, has launched the youth start program in Saudi Arabia to compete on the karting circuit that was specially designed in the fan zone.

The program is directed to the Saudi talents aged between 6 and 12 years and it aims at granting them an opportunity to experience racing.

The Formula 1 race will attract fans of car circuits and tourists from inside the Kingdom, the Gulf area and the entire world, which will positively reflect on developing the tourist economy in sectors that are related to the tourism sector.

It will also promote Saudi tourist destinations in general, and encourage visitors to attend diversified events and seasons across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. — SPA
