AGFUND, UNOCHA respond to humanitarian needs in Yemen and Syria

GENEVA — Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, President of the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND) announced the program’s contribution of $300,000 to the two humanitarian funds of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), in both Yemen and Syria.

Prince Abdulaziz stressed AGFUND’s commitment to contribute to urgent humanitarian needs in Yemen and Syria, while expressing his happiness in the partnership with the UNOCHA to provide assistance and support to the poor and displaced in Yemen and Syria, especially in the areas of health, food, education, and social protection.

The prince made the remarks during the signing of the agreement between AGFUND and UNOCHA, on the sidelines of the ceremony of the Prince Talal International Prize for Human Development, which is sponsored by AGFUND. — SPA
