RIYADH — The Saudi-Cuban Parliamentary Friendship Committee at the Shoura Council, held on Thursday at the council’s headquarters a meeting headed by President of the committee Dr. Ibrahim Mahmoud Al-Nahhas with Cuban Ambassador Saudi Arabia Vladimir Gonzalez Quesada.

Dr. Al-Nahhas highlighted the importance of enhancing bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Cuba in all fields, especially at the parliamentary level between the Shoura Council and the Cuban parliament.

For his part, Quesada expressed aspiration to develop the distinguished relations between the two countries in various fields, stressing his country’s position rejecting the recurrent terrorist attacks that target civilian objects in Saudi Arabia and all types of terrorism.

During the meeting, which saw the participation of members of the committee, also reviewed Saudi-Cuban efforts exerted in combating the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and means to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in various fields.

The meeting also discussed several issues of mutual interest to both countries in a bid to contribute to enhancing commonalities and cooperation aspects. — SPA
