Conference on ‘The future of internal audit’ begins in Riyadh

RIYADH — President of the General Court of Audit Dr. Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Al-Angari highlighted the importance of issues that will be discussed in the 8th Conference for Internal Audit, which commenced Tuesday under the title “The future of internal audit”.

Dr. Al-Angari, during the inauguration ceremony in Riyadh, said that the new version of the conference is considered a big gathering for professionals and those interested in the internal audit in Saudi Arabia, with the participation of an elite of leaders and local and international experts who meet together to discuss the internal audit profession and suggest the best professional solutions and practices according to the latest international developments with taking into consideration the accelerating developments faced by our world at all levels.

For his part CEO of the Saudi Institute for Internal Auditors Abdullah Al-Shbili said that the conference aims at reviewing the developments in the internal audit profession and the monitoring system globally, in addition to drawing the future of the profession according to the international changes and developments and to enhance the features of flexible leadership in the internal audit profession in realization of the Saudi Vision 2030.

Around 30 local and international leaders and experts are participating in the conference in the internal audit and monitoring system fields, as well as several representatives of global organizations and companies, mainly CEO of the Institute of Internal Auditors Anthony J. Pugliese, to discuss the top challenges facing the audit profession and suggest the best solutions and practices.

The event also includes 6 dialogue sessions, 3 presentations and 4 specialized workshops that all discuss the new trends for internal auditors, risk tools in the leadership system of monitoring in facilities, the role of governance in crisis management and business continuity, in addition to the added value for internal audit committees and the increasing demand on internal audit in the Kingdom and the professional future of the internal audit. — SPA
