Al-Rajhi inaugurates “Innovation and the Future of Government Work” conference

RIYADH — The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi, inaugurated the “Innovation and the Future of Government Work” conference on Wednesday, organized by the Institute of Public Administration in Riyadh.

The conference aims to envision the future and stimulate a culture of innovation in the practice of government work.

“Innovation has become a necessity today and not an option for organizations. It is essential to keep pace with changes, continue growing and developing, and remain competitive.”

“Especially in this era, marked by rapid changes and transformations, open markets and continuous development of technology”, said, Ahmed Al-Rajhi, in a statement during the conference.

Al-Rajhi said: "Government agencies are constantly moving towards adopting modern concepts and practices in innovation to improve the government work environment and develop their services ."

He stated that the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 is mainly based on innovation, serving as a means of reaching the objectives of its programs, initiatives, and qualitative projects.

He indicated that the Kingdom's Vision 2030 represents the cornerstone enabling the Kingdom to further its influence and assume a leading role in the global innovation scene.

He added that the Kingdom's government pays considerable attention to innovation to promote The Kingdom's position and competitiveness in the future global scene. It mainly focuses on building an innovation ecosystem characterized by dynamism and efficiency.

The Human Capability Development Program was launched recently to promote The Kingdom's Vision 2030. It is designed to develop the capabilities of all citizens of the Kingdom, preparing them for the future and the opportunities offered by the changing and accelerating employment needs at the national and international levels.

The conference will present recommendations that contribute to developing innovation opportunities in government work in light of the development and economic status quo that the Kingdom is witnessing.

The recommendations aim to enhance the development of administration in the Kingdom, improve the level of performance, increase productivity, raise the level of quality, support the integration of innovation in work methods, and contribute to advancing administrative development. — SG
