RIYADH — The member states of the Regional Aviation Safety Group for the Middle East region (RASG-MID) of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) elected the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as president for a period of three years, during the ninth session of the group’s meetings hosted by Riyadh from Feb. 14-17, 2022.

The Middle East Regional Aviation Safety Group (RASG-MID) aims to develop an integrated data-driven strategy and implement a work program that supports a regional safety management performance framework that is aligned with the ICAO Global Aviation Safety Plan (GASP), and the regional goals and priorities outlined in the Safety Strategy for the Middle East.

The Kingdom's election as head of the Regional Aviation Safety Group for the Middle East (RASG-MID) comes in appreciation of its prominent role in enhancing aviation safety and its efforts in supporting the regional plan for air safety and achieving its goals. — SG
