MAKKAH — The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has intensified its services during the first 10 days of the holy month of Ramadan through adopting a comprehensive service system that works round the clock.
The presidency is keen on sterilization, cleaning, operation, transport, vehicles inside the mosque, opening the gates of the mosque, organizing entry and exit, identifying courses for people with disabilities, distributing Zamzam water bottles to praying areas, among other services to visitors.
The presidency also intensified the watering services for visitors and worshippers by distributing 8 million liters of Zamzam water through 3 million disposable bottles, 25,000 Zamzam water containers via 250 back-bags and 58 smart carts with a capacity of 80 liters and 33 special carts for circumambulation courses with a capacity of 100 bottles.
The transport services administration increased its preparedness to serve visitors of the Grand Mosque by providing more than 5,000 normal carts and 3,000 electric carts for Umrah performers and visitors of the mosque to facilitate their transport.
The presidency has recruited more than 100 monitors at the gates of the Grand Mosque for receiving worshippers and guiding them to the right places, organizing the entry and exit of worshippers, and guiding worshippers to praying areas. More than 100 gates of the mosque have been kept open for the convenience of worshippers. — SPA
