RIYADH — Tunisia will be this year’s guest-of-honor country at the Riyadh International Book Fair, the Ministry of Culture announced on Sunday.
The most-awaited literary carnival in the capital, which aims to facilitate quality exchanges between authors, publishers and readers, will start its 10 days run on Sept. 29.
Tunisia's choice comes in recognition of the country's rich culture and in the framework of joint efforts by the two countries to promote cooperation in the cultural field.
The Riyadh International Book Fair has occupied a prestigious place in the Arab book fairs calendar as a cultural window that brings together literature, publishing and translators from local and international institutions and companies along with readers.
The Riyadh International Book Fair 2022 is part of the "Book Fairs" initiative implemented by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission.
This year’s edition is considered the second edition under the supervision of the commission. Last year, the fair saw the participation of more than 1,000 publishing houses from 28 countries.
