JEDDAH — The Ministry of Health revealed on Tuesday that 8,933 babies were born in the Kingdom in one week.
The ministry figures were for the period from Aug. 23 to 30.
Riyadh region topped all regions in the number of new births, with 2,286 babies, followed by the Makkah region with 1.804 births, and the Eastern Province with 868 births.
The number of births in Najran region was 249, Asir region was 585, Hafr Al-Batin was 205, Hail region was 192, Jazan region was 466, Tabuk region had 291 births and the city of Bisha 124 births.
In the Madinah region there were 636 births. There were 511 births in Qassim and 104 births in Al-Qurayat.
While in the Northern Border region, 166 babies were born, 185 were born in Al-Jouf, 109 were born in Al-Baha and 351 in Al-Ahsa.
