RIYADH — The Saudi Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission has launched Riyadh International Book Fair 2022 Award with a total of more than SR300,000 prize money would be distributed to several categories of winners.

The commission indicated that the award targets local, Arab and international publishing houses who are participating in the Riyadh International Book Fair.

The division of prizes for the categories, according to what was published by the commission, will be as follows.

The prize for excellence in publishing will be at a value of SR50,000; the prize for excellence in specialized publishing for children will be SR50,000; and the prize for excellence publishing in translation will be worth SR50,000.

Among the other categories are: the prize for excellence in digital publishing for digital platforms, amounting to SR50,000; the prize for excellence in Saudi content publishing is SR50,000; in addition to the readers' choice award which would be SR50,000.

The commission clarified that the announcement of the winners will be made at an honoring ceremony to be held at the closing of the Riyadh International Book Fair 2022 on Oct. 8.

The commission provided an opportunity for the audience and readers to choose the winner of the Readers' Choice Award, as voting will start on Oct. 4. People can vote through the Riyadh International Book Fair application.

The Riyadh International Book Fair 2022 kicked off on Sept. 29 with the theme of “Cultural Chapters”, which will last for 10 days until Oct. 8.

Around 1,200 publishing houses, representing 32 countries are participating in the exhibition, and Tunisia is attending as a guest of honor.
