November 06, 2022

WASHINGTON — The Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM) to the United States of America participated in the second edition of the global "Cat Walk" initiative, which is organized by the Catmosphere Organization.

The march of SACM staff and male and female students on scholarships, with the participation of the cultural attaché at the Kingdom’s embassy to the United States, Dr. Fawzi Bukhari, started from the headquarters of SACM in Virginia to the initiative’s headquarters back and forth, in order to raise awareness and encourage the conservation of wild cats.

This participation aims to support the protection of 40 species of wild cats that are endangered, and to remind the world of the importance to conserve them in their natural environment. The event also aims to raise awareness of the importance of conserving endangered wild cats all over the world.

Saudi Ambassador to the United States Princess Reema Bint Bandar Bin Sultan launched in 2020 a non-profit organization called "Catmosphere", with the aim of conserving the life of wild cats, including the “Arabian leopard” and protecting their natural life cycle.

The organization in addition promotes and supports the work of the “Panthera” organization, which is the only organization devoted exclusively to conserving the life of 40 species of wild cats in the world by launching a number of strategic initiatives and awareness campaigns and supporting regional and international initiatives in this regard. — SPA
