RIYADH — Visitors to Saudi Arabia are now allowed to drive a rented vehicle. This is one of the five new services for the public, launched on “Absher” platform on Monday.

Under the patronage of Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Public Security Director Lt. Gen. Muhammad Al-Bassami launched the services, which will be implemented, in cooperation with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), represented by the National Information Center.

The new services also include replacing and delivering vehicle number plates; reporting stolen and lost plates; allowing air guns to the private sector, and issuing rock-cutting permits to the private sector.

The launch of these services comes as an extension of the Interior Ministry’s digital transformation, as well as the provision of electronic services and digital solutions to citizens, residents, and visitors that save time and effort and enable the beneficiaries to complete the procedures easily. — SPA
