Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) said that the recent allegations, which claim that lead could be discovered in lipstick by rubbing it with gold, are untrue.

SFDA said that the only way to detect and discover lead material in cosmetics is through laboratory analysis.

The authority clarified this fact because of the clips that were spreading recently on social media, which indicated the possibility of detecting lead in lipsticks.

SFDA stressed that the widely used method of rubbing it with gold is not based on scientific foundations.
