JEDDAH — Public Security Director Lt. Gen. Muhammad Al-Bassami announced on Sunday that a new online platform titled ‘Sawaher’ would be launched soon to ensure security control at the entrances to Makkah so as to identify people and vehicles.

Al-Bassami said this while addressing the 22nd Scientific Forum for Hajj and Umrah Research at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah.

He said that the security patrols would be equipped with systems that detect wanted persons while they are passing through roads.

“Everything posted on social media platforms will be analyzed and will be linked with the security command platforms,” he added.

The Umm Al-Qura University is represented by its Institute of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for Hajj and Umrah Research, in organizing the two-day forum.

The forum with the theme of “Towards a distinguished experience to serve the guests of the Most Gracious” discusses various topics of scientific research related to Hajj and Umrah.
