RIYADH — The Al-Nassr Riyadh Women squad has won the Saudi Women’s Premier League Cup in its first edition for the 2022-2023 season, after defeating Al-Yamamah Women 3-2.

The goals were scored by Maysa Jabara, Isabella Aguirre and Munira Al-Hamdan, the captain of the team.

Reacting to the win, Al-Hamdan said: “I thank all those who stood with us from the fans, management and coaches, and special thanks to the players for their support as they have the credit after God for what we have accomplished.”

Al-Nassr scored wins in decisive rounds, especially with the runner-up, Al-Hilal, to win the title, after playing 14 rounds. Al-Shabab Riyadh comes in third place after thrashing Sama Sport 19-0 goals while Al-Ahli Jeddah beat Shula Al-Sharqiya 5-0.

Mubaraka Al-Sairi of Al-Nassr has won the title of best player of the Saudi Women’s Premier League while Laila Ali of Al-Yamamah was chosen as the best goalkeeper whereas the top scorer award went to the Iraqi player of Al-Hilal Shukhan Noureddine, who scored 42 goals.

The 2022–23 Saudi Women’s Premier League is the inaugural season of the Saudi Women’s Premier League which replaced the Saudi Women's National League as the top-level women’s football league in Saudi Arabia.
