RIYADH — The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) have provided 30 fully equipped ambulances in a bid to increase the capacity of hospitals and medical centers in the six Yemeni governorates of Marib, Aden, Shabwa, Hadramawt, Mahra, and Taiz.
The support includes implementing training programs in the ambulance field in Yemen and providing technical and advisory support via organizing health campaigns and emergency medical services on disease awareness, first aid, preventive programs, vaccination campaigns, and rehabilitation of Yemen's health capacities.
Training also is provided on community-based assistance programs, specialized medical programs, business automation, and development of health sector procedures.
The support provided by SDRPY and the Saudi Red Crescent aims at unifying the efforts of Saudi authorities and the support they provide to Yemen in order to contribute to its development and reconstruction and to support the healthcare capacities in Yemeni governorates.
The SDRPY actively supports the health sector in Yemen, where it provided support through 31 development projects and initiatives. It also supported 17 medical centers by providing medical equipment and devices.
The SDRPY so far has implemented 224 development projects and initiatives across Yemen covering the eight major sectors of education, health, water, energy, transport, agriculture, fisheries, and capacity building for government institutions. — SPA
