RIYADH — A delegation of various sectors at the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) visited South Korea between Feb. 27 and March 3, 2023, during which delegates met with several officials from the public and private sectors to exchange knowledge and expertise in data and AI fields.
The SDAIA delegation held bilateral meetings with the Korean side representing the Ministry of Science and Information and Communications Technology; the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport; the National Information Society Agency; the Personal Data Protection Authority; the Korea Data Agency; the Seoul Urban Government (Smart Seoul); and the Institute for Information Communication Technology, Planning and Evaluation.
The delegation also held other meetings with the Korean Information Society Development Institute and the Korean Data Centre Council. During the meetings, the two sides discussed means to enhance coordination, exchange expertise, and establish partnerships in data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and smart city technologies and their development worldwide.
The visit is part of the authority’s efforts to boost its partnerships with various international institutions to achieve its vision of building a national data-based economy, realize the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030, and develop the Kingdom’s ranking to be among the leading countries in the field of data-based economies and AI. — SPA
