RIYADH — The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued an advanced alert about the expected weather conditions during the coming days in several regions, saying that it will witness medium to heavy thunderstorms until Monday. These include the regions of Riyadh, Najran, Jazan, Asir, and the Eastern Province.

The rain will be accompanied by surface winds, hail, and torrential flow, with poor visibility, the center said in its weather report published on Sunday. Moderate to heavy thunderstorms, accompanied by active winds that limit the range of horizontal visibility, with showers of hail that lead to torrential rains, are expected in parts of Najran, Asir, Al-Baha, Riyadh, Eastern Province and Makkah, the NCM forecast has said.

Earlier, the General Directorate of Civil Defense called on the public to stay away from water pools, valleys, and dams to ensure their safety during rain.
