RIYADH — The Haramain High-Speed Railway management has increased the number of daily train trips between Makkah and Madinah to more than 100 during the holy month of Ramadan.

This is to facilitate smooth flow of Umrah pilgrims and visitors in both directions between the two holy cities during the peak annual Umrah season.

The railway management made elaborate arrangements to cope with the huge inflow of Umrah pilgrims and visitors to Saudi Arabia via King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, and Prince Muhammad International Airport in Madinah during the month of Ramadan.

It is noteworthy that the Haramain Train is witnessing an increasing turnout of visitors and pilgrims from the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, as well as visitors to the city of Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City, through five stations that have been equipped with full services.

The railway, which connects Makkah and Madinah via Jeddah and Rabigh, has so far operated more than 25,000 trips since the start of the operation, with maintaining 95 percent accuracy in the schedule of services.

There are two trips per hour between Makkah and Madinah during peak hours and one trip every hour between King Abdulaziz International Airport station in Jeddah and Makkah station during peak times.
