RIYADH — The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) reiterated that the expatriate who works for his/her own account will face 3 penalties.

The Jawazat clarified that the penalties include a financial penalty reaching SR50,000, imprisonment for a period of up to 6 months, in addition to deportation from Saudi Arabia.

It has called on everyone to report over the residency (Iqama) and the border security laws through the following number: 911 in Makkah and Riyadh regions, and 999 in the rest of Saudi regions.

It is worth mentioning that the Jawazat has confirmed earlier that the employers who allow their staff to work for others or for their own account will be subject to a financial fine, imprisonment, and will be banned from recruitment.

The employers will be imposed a financial fine that reaches SR100,000, and imprisonment for a period of 6 months, while the banning from recruiting will be up to 5 years.
