RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan received, on Friday, a phone call from his Swedish counterpart Tobias Billström.

During the phone call, Prince Faisal renewed Saudi Arabia's total rejection of all the attempts to offend the Holy Qur'an.

Prince Faisal noted to Billström Saudi Arabia's demand on taking immediate procedures to stop these extremist acts that are trying to undermine the holy books, and provoke the feelings of Muslims around the world.

The foreign minister has also affirmed that the repeated acts of burning copies of Qur'an contribute fueling hatred, as well as it will limit the efforts of dialogue between peoples and civilizations.

From his side, the Swedish foreign minister has expressed Sweden's condemnation and denunciation for all the attempts of burning copies of the Holy Qur’an.

Billström expressed his deep regret of the act made by some people in his country of outright exploitation for the Swedish constitution regarding freedom of opinion.

Sweden is keen to stop all acts offensive to religions and holy books, the Swedish foreign minister confirmed.
