Nazaha, Interpol to increase cooperation in combating cross-border crimes

LYON, France — President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous visited the headquarters of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) in Lyon, France, on Friday. He was received by Secretary-General of INTERPOL Jürgen Stock and senior members of the organization.

During the visit, the two sides discussed several topics of common interest, including aspects of cooperation between Nazaha and INTERPOL in combating corruption and cross-border crimes, enhancing aspects of cooperation with relevant international organizations within regional and international frameworks and agreements, and discussing the challenges of combating corruption crimes.

The discussions also touched on issues related to recovering funds and assets related to corruption cases, pursuing fugitives of law, and cooperating to retrieve and bring them before the courts.

The visit comes in response to an invitation from the INTERPOL chief to the President of Nazaha to discuss measures undertaken by the organization in combating corruption and the movement of illicit funds and their recovery. — SPA
