RIYADH — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani at the presidential palace in Baghdad on Monday.

During the meeting, they discussed the fraternal relations between the two countries, and ways to further strengthen and develop them. Major areas of joint cooperation were also figured in the talks.

During the reception, Al-Sudani and Prince Faisal reviewed many regional and international issues of common interest. On his part, Prince Faisal conveyed greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to the Iraqi government and people.

Prince Faisal also met with Dr. Fuad Hussein, Iraqi deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs. Upon arrival at Baghdad International Airport, he was received by Hussein. They discussed a number of issues that contribute to supporting and strengthening security and stability in the region.

The reception was also attended by Saudi Ambassador to Iraq Abdulaziz Al-Shammari and Abdulrahman Al-Dawood, director general of the office of the minister of foreign affairs.
