TEESSIDE — Alfanar Global Development, a part of Alfanar Projects - a leading global project developer, engineering construction and technology solutions provider - recently hosted Eng. During the visit, received a comprehensive tour of the SAF facility, engaged in discussions with Alfanar team regarding strategic objectives, and had the opportunity to witness firsthand the cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices of the on-site feedstock preparation and processing facility. This experience vividly demonstrated the transformative potential of the project and its contribution to a greener, more sustainable future for United Kingdom and the global energy landscape.

Lighthouse Green Fuels (LGF) project has secured UK Government funding of over £13 million through Green Fuels, Green Skies and Advanced Fuels Fund initiatives to support the development of SAF facilities in the UK’s race to net zero. The project is in an advanced stage of development - currently in FEED stage - making it the most advanced SAF facility being developed in the UK. The £1.5 billion facility will bring significant economic benefits to Teesside and attract further investment into the region. Pending parliamentary legislation of SAF mandate and revenue stability mechanism which are currently being studied and consulted on, Alfanar Global Development is expecting to reach the Final Investment Decision by the end of Q1 2025.

Following his visit, Al Falih took to social media platform X and praised the Lighthouse Green Fuels facility as a source of pride and a symbol of Saudi companies' impressive progress on the global stage.
