RIYADH — Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman met Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, and members of the council in Riyadh on Wednesday.
The meeting was held under the guidance of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. During the meeting, Prince Khalid bin Salman urged the Yemeni parties to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to end the Yemeni crisis under the supervision of the United Nations, and in a way achieving security, peace, stability and development of Yemen. He stressed that Saudi Arabia stands with the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council.
At the outset of the meeting, the minister conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the Saudi leadership to the chairman and members of the council. He pledged the Kingdom’s support for Yemen and its people to enjoy security, stability and prosperity. On his part, Al-Alimi conveyed his greetings to the Saudi leadership.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the Yemen issue and the joint efforts to support the peace process in Yemen. A number of topics of mutual concern on the regional and international arenas were also figured in the talks.
The meeting was attended by the Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Muhammad Al-Jaber and Director General of the Office of the Minister of Defense Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif.
It was also attended by members of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council and they included Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi, Brig. Gen. Tariq Muhammad Saleh, Abdulrahman Abu Zaraa, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi Bawazir, and Othman Hussein Majli.
