RIYADH — The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha affirmed the absolute support for the Palestinian people and the joint commitment to defending the Palestinian cause.
He clarified during his speech at the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh that everyone has witnessed the horrific scenes and ethnic cleansing committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza, constituting a crime against humanity.
This necessitates documenting and utilizing the legal and international mechanisms available so that the occupying government is held accountable.
He called for a ceasefire against these attacks on the people of Gaza, the opening of safe passages for continuous aid delivery, and ensuring the security of the Palestinian people.
The secretary-general expressed his rejection of the forced displacement targeting the Palestinian people, urging the international community to take appropriate measures against these actions by the occupying government.
He affirmed that a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue requires joint efforts to achieve an international peaceful solution that puts an end to the Israeli occupation and implements a Palestinian state according to international legitimacy and the Arab peace initiative.
He expressed hope that this summit would achieve goals that serve the Palestinian cause.
