BURAIDAH — Saudi Arabia’s leading newspaper Okaz has won the best content creation award in the third edition of the branch of the Outstanding Media Coverage of the National Events.
Emir of the Qassim region Prince Faisal bin Mishaal presented the award to Abdullah Al-Hassoun, director general of Okaz Organization for Press and Publication.
Winning of the new award comes as a continuation of the newspaper’s saga of distinctions and successes in giving prominent coverage to all national activities and events, in a way holding fast to professional ethics and the arts of content creation through its journalistic teams spread all over Saudi Arabia. The newspaper is going ahead with its brilliant journey #Okaz_First, with electronic updates on a package of multimedia and digital media outlets.
By achieving excellence and priority in content creation, the newspaper scores a new goal in its series of awards. Okaz bagged two awards last week at the 3rd edition of Saudi Media Forum in the tracks of ‘Journalistic interview’ and ‘Journalistic article.’
Okaz also topped among the most visited and browsed newspapers and news websites in the Arab world, according to the Forbes classification of the most read and viewed websites in the Middle East and North Africa regions. The “Pulse” application announced that Okaz is the most followed newspaper in Saudi Arabia, with more than 7.17 million followers.
Earlier, Okaz bagged the Innovation Challenge award from the Google News Initiative, which was launched by Google to enable the most important news and publishing organizations in the world to present new ideas in the news sector. It also won the award for the best coverage during several Hajj seasons in a row, in addition to achieving a number of local and regional awards.
