MADRID — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan hosted a working dinner on Tuesday for members of the Joint Ministerial Committee on Gaza in the presence of the Spanish foreign minister.
Attendees included Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar; Dr. Ayman Al-Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan; Dr. Mohammed Mustafa, Palestinian Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; José Manuel Albares, Spain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation; and Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the visit of the ministerial committee assigned by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit on Developments in the Gaza Strip to Madrid, Spain.
During the dinner, discussions focused on the significant developments in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings as well as international efforts to address these developments.
The attendees emphasized the need to increase international support for recognizing an independent State of Palestine within the 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital.
