ABU DHABI — UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed has issued a pardon for the Bangladeshi nationals involved in last month’s protests and disturbances across several emirates, canceling their sentences and arranging for their deportation.

Following the President's directive, Dr. Hamad Al Shamsi, UAE Attorney-General, has ordered the suspension of the sentences and the initiation of deportation procedures.

Al Shamsi urged all UAE residents to respect the country’s laws, emphasizing that the right to express opinions is safeguarded within the legal framework of the state.

He noted that the UAE provides lawful avenues for voicing views, ensuring that this right does not escalate into actions that could jeopardize the nation’s interests and the safety of its people. — Agencies
