Saudi and Canadian business delegations meet in Toronto in the presence of senior officials from both countries

Saudi Gazette report

TORONTOA delegation from the Federation of Saudi Chambers, represented by the Saudi-Canadian Business Council, which is currently visiting Canada, inaugurated a new phase in the history of Saudi-Canadian economic relations after nearly a six-year hiatus in trade visits between the two countries.

The business delegation’s visit to Canada coincides with the visit of Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef to further develop trade and investment opportunities between the business communities of the two countries.

The Canadian city of Toronto witnessed the holding of a roundtable meeting organized by the Saudi-Canadian Business Council, with the attendance of Alkhorayef, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Canada Amal Al-Moalimi, the Chairman of the Business Council Mohammed Al-Dulaim, and a number of investors.

Al-Dulaim explained that the Council has made remarkable achievements during the visit, which is the first in six years. The delegation held fruitful discussions with major Canadian companies, signed commercial partnerships, and inaugurated a business council office in Toronto.

The forum highlighted investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia and Canada in several strategic sectors, including the mining sector and sectors related to Vision 2030.

It also witnessed the signing of a MoU to establish a Saudi-Canadian company to design and manufacture complex structures in entertainment and sports shows.

The Federation of Saudi Chambers announced last July the approval of the final formation of the Saudi-Canadian Business Council in an important development for economic relations between Saudi Arabia and Canada after years of suspending the council’s activities, missions and trade delegations.
