RIYADH — Misk Schools, now in its eighth year of operation, has earned both international and national accolades this month, cementing its position as a leader in K-12 education in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
The school has been named one of the world's top private schools by The Schools Index 2024 — an annual publication that lists important private schools from around the globe.
Despite being a relatively new institution, Misk Schools now ranks among the top 150 private schools globally and in the top 15 in the Middle East, standing alongside esteemed, long-established schools such as the UK’s Eton College, Tanglin Trust School in Singapore, Dubai College, Kellett School in Hong Kong, and the British School of Paris. This achievement underscores the rapid rise and impact of Misk Schools on the global stage.
"This acknowledgment reflects our growing presence in the international education landscape," said Dr. Steffen Sommer, Director General at Misk Schools. "More importantly, it underscores our commitment to providing a progressive curriculum for our students, offering transformative experiences and fostering leadership and critical thinking skills."
The Schools Index, now in its fifth year, is curated by the global education group Carfax Education. It is considered the definitive guide to the best private schools worldwide, recognizing institutions for their academic standards, facilities, university preparation, and unique educational approaches.
Adding to this international recognition, Misk Schools has also become the first school in the Kingdom to be accredited under the Saudi Education and Training Evaluation Commission's (ETEC) new national standards and accreditation framework. The rigorous review process evaluated the school's performance in areas such as School Leadership, Teaching and Learning, Learning Outcomes, and School Environment.
Dr. Sommer expressed pride in this accomplishment, stating, "As the Kingdom's first and only High Performance Learning school, this is an important benchmark for us. We are grateful for ETEC's collaboration in enhancing our educational quality and efficiency."
These recent endorsements highlight Misk Schools' dedication to educational excellence and its increasing influence both at home and abroad.
Founded in 2016 by HRH Mohammed bin Salman, Misk Schools supports Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 by equipping students with the knowledge, values, and skills needed to become future leaders. The school is accredited by Cambridge International Education, Cambridge Early Years, Pearson Edexcel, and High Performance Learning.
Part of the Misk Foundation, Misk Schools is also a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Its school leaving certificate, the Misk Schools Diploma, is validated by Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
