RIYADHThe bilateral technical meetings of the Saudi-Djibouti Joint Committee kicked off its sixth session in Riyadh on Sunday..

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Djibouti to Saudi Arabia, Diaa Eddine Bamakhrama, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics for Logistics Services, Ryan Al-Bakri.

Al-Bakri said the meeting represents the ongoing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Djibouti to enhance economic, cultural and social relations. He noted that the committee is a pioneer of cooperation in various fields, especially in light of the challenges and obstacles that the two parties may face in a changing and rapidly developing world, which makes cooperation between the two countries more necessary than ever.

The Saudi Ambassador praised the cooperation and joint coordination achieved by the Saudi-Djibouti Joint Committee in its previous sessions, and the understanding of the ambitious goals and desires of both parties to push bilateral cooperation and relations toward a new level that benefits the peoples of both countries.

He also expressed his happiness with the economic achievements of the two countries, including the signing of the agreement to establish the Saudi-Djibouti Logistics Zone in the free zone in Djibouti, indicating that this achievement is very significant, especially since the zone will enhance trade movement and serve many countries on the African continent.

It was also announced that starting from the beginning of 2025, Flynas will operate regular direct flights from Saudi Arabia to Djibouti.

This is one of the outcomes of the Saudi-Djibouti Joint Committee in its previous sessions. In addition, a number of agreements between the two countries were signed in the past.
